Don Presenting at 2010 Pollstar Awards

Don is among the show-and-music biz personalities slated as presenters in the 2010 Pollstar Concert Industry Awards coming up on February 17 at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles.

Since 1984, the awards “honor artists, management, talent buyers, venues, support services and more for their professionalism, achievements and abilities. Winners are determined by votes from the international readership of POLLSTAR.” Nominees for major concert tour of the year include AC/DC, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Coldplay, Pink, Taylor Swift and U2.

The awards take place during the Pollstar Live! Conference February 16-17. For more information including registration requirements go to the conference information details at Pollstarpro.com.

Don’s Time on Rocktimes

Don recently gave an interesting interview to the German online music magazine Rocktimes. Refreshingly, he’s not just asked to re-hash what’s in his book.

There’s an English version alongside the German original.

Yes We Can-ada

For those of you without access to a newsstand copy, Macleans magazine has now published an online version of a question and answer session with Don (click the thumbnail to view the article). There are some pretty interesting tidbits in this one instead of the usual rehearsed sound bites. And good call on the best guitarist you’ve ever met, Don. You’ve more than likely met hundreds, and Jeff Beck IS awesome.

Speaking of Canada, tickets for Don’s shows in February in Niagara Falls, Ontario are now on sale via ticketmaster.ca.

Earlier this month, Don was spotted a little closer to home in what appeared to be a mixed bag of musical genre(-ations) at an invitation-only event sponsored by Blue Microphone. Here some press photos we found at wireimage.

Top 100 Musicians in Golf

Just in time for the start of the Dunhill Links, Golf Digest has published online its November 2008 issue’s ranking of the Top 100 musicians who play golf.

This year, Don moved up a couple of notches and is tied at #34 with six others (enough to form a band.) Fellow rankees Huey Lewis (#12) and Tico Torres (#24) are also set to play at Dunhill this year.
