It’s day two of the Moondance Jam classic rock festival in Walker, MN. Don takes the stage at 7 pm CDT (-0500 UTC) followed by Pat Benatar and REO Speedwagon.

The Kingston Trio has always been cool. For instance, those guys have the most optimistic album title in recording history: “The Kingston Trio – The First 50 Years.” They’ve got their own iPhone app and a Fantasy Camp. They recently dusted off an antique reel-to-reel rehearsal tape “Above the Purple Onion”, gave it a remastering hosedown and plan to send it off in about three weeks. Look for it and more music at the Kingston Trio Store. . . . . . . More Larry luv. Mr. 335 is currently bouncing all over the globe playing a gazillion weeks’ worth of shows at various festivals and venues. The man is an airline frequent-flyer mileage program monster. Thought we saw a stop at the North Pole in his “Round the World in 80 Days Tour” on larrycarlton.com but we could be mistaken . . . . . .

Off the wires: “For the first time in its 19 year history, the Moondance Jam rock festival will be broadcast on television. America’s premier television provider, DIRECTV, will air this year’s festival exclusively on The 101 Network. The production company Blaze TV will be filming during the festival this July 15 – 17 and will then produce ten one hour shows featuring artists Sammy Hagar, REO Speedwagon, Buckcherry, Jonny Lang, Hoobastank, Collective Soul, Black Stone Cherry and Pat Travers. Additional artists may also be added from the three day, fifteen band main stage roster. The programs will air as part of the DIRECTV Concert Series and begin airing on The 101 Network late this summer.”

Don takes the stage at 7 p.m. on July 16.
