Entertainment Lineup for Carolina Concert

Officials of the BMW Charity ProAm presented by Synnex, which is coming up May 19-22, announced the entertainment lineup for the Spinx Concert Series Tournament Celebrity Show on Friday, May 20 at the Peace Center Amphitheatre in Greenville, SC. The concert will help raise funds for a program called Honor Flight, which brings World War II vets to Washington, DC in order for them to view the memorials which have been built there in their honor.

From today’s press release: “Javier Colon and Colt Ford will perform during the concert, as will legendary guitarist Don Felder, Rascal Flatts guitarist Joe Don Rooney, Mark Bryan of Hootie & the Blowfish, musician Josh Kelley, Cheech Marin of the infamous duo Cheech and Chong and actor/musician Bruce Greenwood.

To purchase tickets, call Spinx at (864) 233-5421. Press “0” when you hear the automated recording.”

The celebrities performing in Friday evening’s show will have the opportunity to “relax” playing golf in the ProAm. Don will be on steriods that week, playing two additional “Evening at the Hotel California” shows as well as shooting 72 holes of golf during the four days.

Golf and Guitars for BMW Charity ProAm

Don returns to the BMW Charity Pro-Am this year, which takes place among three courses situated on the North/South Carolina border. The event, scheduled for May 19-22, pits a field of golf-addicted celebrities teamed up with “real folks” and professionals from the Nationwide Tour. The tournament is also broadcast by the Golf Channel.

Don will have to struggle with excess baggage this year since he will have to tote both his golf clubs AND his guitars from one coast to the other, plus arrange an early tee time on Saturday, May 21. That evening he’ll perform a special concert in Spartanburg’s Barnet Park beginning at 7:00 pm. Not only are tickets available to the general public, the event also offers a VIP package with an opportunity to socialize with Don. Most importantly, proceeds from the concert benefit various charities supported by BMW and the community.

Don to Play Show in Spartanburg

The BMW Pro-Am Charities presents an outdoor “Evening at the Hotel California” on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Barnett Park in Spartanburg, SC. Don and the band’s performance is one of the events surrounding the BMW Charity Pro-Am golf tournament which will be played from May 19-22.

General admission tickets are $20/$25 day of the show. More info and where to get tickets here.

Marching the Fairways

Like Don says, if he’s going to go out and lose golf balls, it might as well be for a good cause. Well then, he’d better stock up for a couple of charity golf events coming up next month.

On March 5th and 6th, actor Patrick Warburton will host the inaugural “Golf for Kids” celebrity golf tournament on the Classic Course in Palm Desert, CA, which benefits the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. In addition to the golf, there will be a pairings party, foursomes each with a celebrity, gala dinner, comedy show and silent auction. Non-golfers can purchase tickets separately for the gala show.
