Most of Don’s fans are aware by now that Don is an avid golfer, appearing in numerous charity tournaments in the USA and abroad and serving as host to the Howard Keel Golf Classic played annually outside of Manchester, UK. Don is particularly active in his support of organizations dedicated to the welfare of children and is very committed to helping out where he can. We estimate that Don’s probably played around 1,438,487 holes of benefit golf in the last 5 years.

2010 Bob Hope Golf Classic
1/20 – Don’s team mid-pack after round one. Best celeb team is a tie between Team Oliver Hudson/Kurt Russell and Team Patrick Wharburton.
1/21 – Play suspended due to heavy rain. Resumes tomorrow.
1/22 – Tee times delayed to let the groundskeepers work miracles. Due to time constraints, only the pros (and those with webbed feet) play today.
1/23 – Don entertained at last night’s celebrity party. The amateur competition has been shortened by a round so by the time his socks dry out the event will be over.
1/24 – Don’s paired with last year’s champ Pat Perez. He got some Golf Channel luv on 17 and fortunately sunk his three-foot putt when the camera was rolling.

DUNHILL LINKS CHAMPIONSHIP
Day 1 Don drew pro Simon Khan and is playing together with pro Soeren Hansen and partner Kieran McManus. Today’s round was at Carnoustie, the most challenging course. The weather held up and so did Don, who shot par. Kieran and Soeren played very well and lead the team standings. Best professional surfer today was Kelly Slater.
Day 2 Today the guys played the Old Course at St. Andrews. Temperatures dropped some, and so did Don’s score. He finished three under par for the day. Kieran and Soeren fell to 2nd in the team standings. Like every year, we still can’t figure out how after only two rounds the professional leaders are already playing a million under par. If somebody can clue us in, please do.
Day 3 Play was suspended today due to a hurricane a Scottish breeze. In the meantime, here are a couple of images of Don at the pairings party via RexUsa.

Day 4 The weather turned around and so did Don’s group out at Kingsbarns. Soeren and Simon both picked up a slew of birdies to make the cut, with Soeren and Kieran regaining the top team spot going into tomorrow’s showdown. Obviously still full of energy from last evening’s players party jam, Don got in one last dance with a female TV reporter before cruising to a final round six under.

The Bob Hope Chrysler Classic
Don played in the fantabulous Bob Hope Chrysler Classic again this year. Astonishingly, he didn’t get asked a single golf-related question. Video Clip
