How about this for a title for Don’s new book – A Good Day in Hell? Happy New Year to everyone & can’t wait to see what Don has in store for us in the upcoming years! What an amazing guy!

Uh oh. Looks like Wolfgang faces some opposition. The person behind Concert Vault is being accused of wrongfully exploiting the artists by selling reproductions of memorabilia and streaming the live concerts. Members of Led Zeppelin, the Doors, Grateful Dead and Carlos Santana have teamed up and filed suit. We knew it was too good to be true.

A little press ditty:
ALICE COOPER PSYCHED ABOUT CHARITY SHOW LINEUP
Alice Cooper’s sixth annual charity concert takes place this Saturday (December 16th) in Phoenix, to benefit Cooper’s Solid Rock Foundation, which helps young people deal with situations including gangs, drugs, and guns. The show, called the Christmas Pudding concert, will feature Cooper performing with members of the original Alice Cooper band, Stephen Stills, former Eagles guitarist Don Felder, and Styx singer-guitarist Tommy Shaw and Night Ranger singer-bassist Jack Blades with their Shaw Blades project. Also appearing will be American Idol contestant Ace Young with his band.
* As far as the eclectic mix of performers, Cooper says it’s deliberate: “Every year I try to get different people. This year, (it’s) Stephen Stills, who’s never been there before. I’ve got the original band, Alice Cooper original band — minus (guitarist) Glen (Buxton), of course, even though he’ll probably be there.

Very nice. A possible solo tour starting in March and the book in August. Can’t wait to see if there is any mention about a psycho following him around a golf course with a video camera

The first thing I’m gonna do when I get home is listen to this. I would love to get the story from someone who actually lived it. All the books about the Eagles seem to be based on the same quotes. Really looking forward to this. Something for Don to sign in September

More thought provoking and certainly more important is the top musician in politics: John Hall. He has been elected to Congress (D-NY). John Hall founded the pop-rock group Orleans back in 1972. An anti-nuclear activist (remember the “No Nukes” concert?), his campaign recently received active support from Jackson Browne and Bonnie Raitt.

It’s same place for sure, but like Don said, they keep moving the date back every year so it may be Christmas time and then they’ll have snow as well!

Gone with the wind today over to Kingsbarns. Absolutely magnificent scenery with a few golf greens thrown in for good measure. The course is not golf cart friendly terrain (you’re better off with a dune buggy.) Extremely hilly and with the wind blowing constantly it was hard to imagine even trying to hit a golf ball anywhere out there – but according to Don, it’s his favorite of the three Dunhill courses.
We had a great day out here today and our feet even stayed dry. And if any of the ladies out there think golf is not for women, well think again – Don, Ronan, Marc and Joakim look as great as they play.
If you’re able to receive TALK 107 radio Edinburgh, they’ll be broadcasting an interview with Don tomorrow. (we believe around 11:00 a.m. )
Back next with more including an updated photo blog.

It’s quite relaxed, actually. Even with the prize money at stake the pros still seem to be enjoying themselves. If you’re a golf fan, this is a great place to get close to the big guns. Attendance is good. The hospitality is great.
Joe B,

Good luck with the sunshine but I think you’ll be drying out your shoes again.
What’s the attendance like? Do the golfers get chance to talk to the crowd or is ths golf a serious business?

Greetings from Scotland.
We braved the elements today out at Carnoustie where we caught up with Don on the 10th tee. Nice bunch in his foursome -pros Marc Warren and Joakim Haeggman along with pop music’s Ronan Keating.
Not only are the bunkers especially challenging here, the weather plays some havoc. Our main priority this evening is drying out our shoes after getting a bit wet after a cloudburst at the 14th.
We’re off to Kingsbarns tomorrow for round three with hopefully a little more sunshine.
Felderblog,
October 6, 2006
If all goes as planned, we’ll be at Carnoustie on Friday and Kingsbarns on Saturday. As for Sunday we don’t know where we’ll be. We do hope of course that Don plays in the final that day.
We’ll keep everyone “up to par”
on how Don is faring as best we can.

Another blast from our record collection past – drummer Don Brewer, who smacked the kit for Grand Funk back in the days when they were AOR radio material, joined Bob’s band on TV (yesterday on David Letterman and tonight on The View.) Don Brewer played with Seger back in the 80′s when Grand Funk was a memory. Whether or not he will stay and tour with The Silver Bullet Band remains to be seen.

You know, these aren’t exactly nobodies who are contending this championship. We’re talking major leaguers here, with the majority of the European pros coming off their recent Ryder Cup win against the U.S. team.
Actor Michael Douglas has been added as a celebrity player again this year.

I literally wore the 8-tracks out back a million years ago. Two Lane Highway is a great album. Emmylou Harris sings a lovely duet on it as well. Their first album is also fantastic. I think you can still get a re-released version of it. If you like steel guitars and up-beat harmonies, I recommend this band’s stuff from the 70′s (BEFORE Vince Gill joined it.)

Don’s dedication to the cause of music education is truly inspirational. Young people today need role models like Don more than ever.
I just wanted to point out that one of Don’s guitar peers and another of my absolute favorite guitarists Earl Klugh is also heavily involved in promoting music education in the public schools. I suggest taking a look at his website.
Don and Earl are outstanding music ambassadors.

henley used to be my favorite eagle but after i read their book i found what a hypocrite he was & how he treated felder i dropped him from my list & added felder henley was a jerk! he complained on how hollywood treated women in the movie business & never mind he did just as bad with his women so who is he to sit back & critisize? thats why he’s the hypocrite. there was alot of low down things described about him in the untold story of the eagles i mean ALOT! felder wasn’t mentioned once about any unreasonable thindg he did but the book raved on henley’s trashy & triffling life style he makes me sick! especially when he goes on about what a decent guy he was growing up. i am southern & he’s made a complete mockery of his roots & mine. far as i’m concerned felder’s name is in good standing. i can’t wait to hear his side of the story with the eagles

Well, not only is it possible to produce a Bob Dylan musical, you can also symposium with him. We saw this interesting note on the German rock online site ROCKTIMES concerning the International Bob Dylan Conference in Frankfurt this coming May. “Invited are world-renowned experts from various disciplines…in an expanded podium discussion under the motto ‘Don’t Look Back’ will delve into Bob’s extraordinary effect on Germany….” We’re assuming attendance here is a tax-deductable business expense for most of these folks.
