Looks like the link we posted to this KWGN-TV interview is already history. Fortunately, Don gets around and also managed to pop in on the 9NEWS show that same day.
Read the Book
Hi Don, If you read this, I read your book. Not the best editorialy but a very worthwhile read. I have to say that I found it pretty tough and sad reading. Going so far and finally losing so much ( I know the book closes with Kathrin joining you ). Hotel Cali’s opening bars always evoke such a feeling, they probably seem a small thing to you now after all these years. I’d love to jam with you to learn so much as you did with Stephen, Bernie, Graham and so many others, alas I reckon this will not happen life is to short and there so much to do. I wish you the best and continue to miss the pure joy that exuded from your counter play with Rubber Nose. All the best Phil.
Hello Don, I´m from Germany and I must say I was raised with the Eagles Music, but now – since you´ve been fired from the eagles, there is the very important part missing. Nobody can replace you in the band. And The Eagles guitar work is just worth with Felder & Walsh. That´s life – money rules the world, that is everything that counts for Henley & Frey. Peter Huf
Mr.Don felder We need you in south of texas
hey, felder got a lot of fans from mexico, anyone knows if he is planning to visit the south of texas?, maybe mc allen or laredo? we need a copy signed from that book…mmm just dreaming
Northern California Book Signings
Hello. I’ve read the book and loved it! I’m a musician in the Sonora/Jamestown area near Yosemite,Ca. I wonder if Don has any Northern California book signings planned this year? Rock on Don. The Eagles made a terrible mistake when they let you go. They just can’t admit it. Larry

Don Felder also appeared on the WZLX Boston’s Classic Rock morning show with Karlson and McKenzie, yesterday morning. There are audio clips availiable on the WZLX site, www.wzlx.com

Now that’s what I call live music. Don, can you explain to me how the hell you played that note perfect, kept to the beat and SANG the entire song, all on one take? Bravo!

Read Don’s book of inspiration, monumental success, drug-induced infighting, and heart-breaking callousness from the two “Gods”, Henley and Frey. As a rabid Eagles fan from the early days, I found this book impossible to put down. At the same time, I was deeply disappointed by the greed and arrogance of the soulless homophobes Don Henley and Glen Frey. I view the song “Hotel California” as one of the two absolute best Rock songs ever created, and to know that Don Felder was the genius behind the music is awe-inspiring. I have always loved Rock songs driven by great guitar work, such as “Already Gone”, but the guitar work in “Hotel California” is nothing short of legendary. My deep thanks to Don Felder for his body of work – it has added an element of joy for both my wife and I over the past 30 years. By the way, not only do my three children love Don’s work, but my 12 year old grandson is a huge fan. He plays both drum and guitar, and he’s next in line in our family to get Don’s book. We have little doubt he will be inspired by greatness.

Re-broadcasts of this program are still being shown on BS-i Television. If you live in Japan or receive Japanese TV, the show will be repeated on July 14 and July 21. It was part of the station’s series “Song to Soul” about Hotel California. Besides Don and Bill Szymczyk, Randy Meisner is in it. Bummer that the clip is no longer available.
Message from Joe B
Don – If you’re reading this, expect a visit from me on 31 July. That’s my birthday. We’ll be staying in a hotel just down the road in Burbank. So probably after a day at Universal you will get a visit from Joe B, Mrs Joe B and the 3 Joe B kids! Don’t go changing your plans y’all

Don WILL be on the East coast for a book signing coming up July 18th at Barnes and Noble in New York City and July 22nd at Borders Books in Braintree, MA at 7:00 pm. Braintree is just outside of Boston. It’s quite a drive up there from Georgia, though. Perhaps Don can eventually dip down southwards. We’ll keep you informed as best we can.
PLeeese come to Dallas
I Cant afford a plane ticket to get my copy signed, but i can drive across Texas. Would anyone know if he will autograph an LP or pickguard at these? thanks, Donnie D1k@netzero.net
Heaven and Hell
Just finished the book today and must say that I was shocked, not so much surprised by the egos of Frey and Henley. I have always rooted for Don Felder and am hopeful that he did, indeed, rise above it. The new Eagles sound is contrived and pathetic. I am surprised that they had enough creativity to make new songs and not just borrow or, worse yet, repackage the same music from years ago. For far too long, Henley and Frey have ripped the public off. In the words of Bernie Leadon, Mr. Felder: “I wish you peace”

How narrow minded is the above post!! Lets then point a finger at Clapton, McCartney, Richards, Plant, and everyone else who smoked or took blow in the 1970′s. It was what it was back then. DF wrote his book based on his memory as he saw it as it was happening. The book took guts to write. Sure it may be his version, …….but if there wasn’t so much in it that is fact and truth, then why did Henley, Frey & Azoff fight like hell to keep it off the shelf? Think about that for a while…………
HC demo in the hall
Don’s original demo recording of Hotel California should be in the rock and roll hall of fame. By the way, where do we get the full hall of fame speeches by Don and the rest of the band? theeguest

Don obviously must have a cell phone flat rate. Here are two another (transcribed) interviews he gave to the Rocky Mountain News. Version 1 (5-15-08) Version 2 (5-16-08) USA Today has also published an excerpt from Heaven and Hell which coincidentally picks up just about where the one on this site leaves off.

This “The Eagles (With Occasionally Don Felder) Story” is now available for listening on KFOG 104.5 San Francisco. It’s narration, Eagles hits and Don’s voice-over all rolled into about one hour. A lot of time is eaten up with Eagles songs, with Don’s sound bites rather few and far between. Some of the book’s more interesting material Don has been expanding on in even more detail in live radio interviews he’s been giving over the past six weeks. If you’d like to listen to some old Eagles favorites, then go for it. You may have to disable the pop-up blocker on your personal computer in order to get the program to play.

This is great news indeed – Eagles fans, I mean EAGLES fans, we can not allow the Gods to rewrite history. I’m glad that Don is out there with “Heaven and Hell” and I’m looking forward to hearing the program. Eagles fans should do their best to keep Felder’s contributions to the band that we all love and would not be what it is without the Don’s talents. Let’s make Heaven and Hell a top seller. And do not allow anyone to airbrush (Rolling Stone magazine) Don Felder from our collective Eagles memories. Theeguest

Despite fever, chills and severe sinus headache, Mary let herself be carted in on a stretcher in order not to miss Bruce and the E Street Band in concert at the HSH Nordbank Arena in Hamburg the day before yesterday. It took her approximately 30 years before she finally got to see him and the Band live so nothing short of a near death experience was gonna stop her. . . the show was officially sold out, and minus the empty seats behind the stage and a couple of sections probably bought by scalpers, er brokers, she gave up counting the crowd somewhere between 96 and 35,000 . . even up in the nosebleed seats the sound was brilliant and the visuals humonguous – two giant, crystal clear screens on each side of the stage . . . Bruce is a security guard’s nightmare. He spent a good portion of the set mingling with the crowd, running up and down ramps, ducking under the stage, doing the limbo and personally collecting song requests (in the form of cardboard posters fans held up) while at the same time singing and playing harmonica, with more than one female fan hugging his legs and hanging on for life . . . Bruce is known for not playing the same ‘ol set every show, which is a credit to his mastery of his catalog. Without even coming up for air between songs, he doled out huge helpings from the buffet – rarities (“Incident on 57th Street”) stuff from his latest album Magic (“I’ll Work for Your Love”) some covers (“Seven Nights To Rock”) and the classics (“Badlands” – with an awesome extended guitar solo by Nils Lofgren – “Because the Night” “Sherry Darlin’” and “Hungry Heart” among them, with “Born to Run” and “Dancing in the Dark” back to back as part of the four-song encore). . . he had the crowd – a cross-section between ages sixteen and sixty – chanting “oh oh oh ohhhhhhhhh oh” as a backdrop for what Mary speculated was probably the bulk of an eventual live concert DVD . . . talk about energizing, she was re-animated and breathing normally after two-and-a-half hours of The Boss. Five friggin’ stars! (P.S./6-24-08/ the local media reported a crowd of 45,000+

Same here from Georgia. I attended the first concert of the tour in Atlanta, (my 1st Eagles concert!)and Don not being there is like seeing The Beatles in ’65 without George Harrison. Instead of just missing a limb, they were missing 1/2 their brain! Maybe we can convince Don to come to the East coast for some signings.

Just finished Don’s book–A great read, but can anyone tell me what the final outcome was of Felder vs The Eagles lawsuit? The book leaves it up in the air, and I couldn’t find an outcome by googling the subject. Is the “verdict” still pending? Has there been a settlement? Anybody know?
Book signings
I concur with the “Come to Texas” post. I’m sure there are PLENTY of Don Felder fans all over the country (I’m in New York) and am disappointed that he has limited himself to California for the book signings. I plan on reading “Heaven and Hell” on my vacation in two weeks, but it looks like I’ll be reading a copy from the library. I attended the Eagles concert on 5/31 and while I think Steuert Smith is a fine musician, not having Don Felder on stage means (to me) that it was REALLY the Eagles, but more like the Eagles missing a limb.
Stephen
Don has been explaining to the crowds that he cannot sign any memorabilia at his book signings per the contract with the publisher. Being very polite, he has had to refuse.
Stephen
At the B&N signing in Santa Monica, I asked DF that very same question. His response was, “Bernie enjoys traveling and seeing other countries. He spends time in Canada….., Randy dosn’t like to tour on the road much, and lives a very happy life with his wife.” Also, this month’s Rolling Stone goes on to say that Randy is “quite wealthy” from especially all the money he still gets from his days in the band. What would be very nice is to see the 3 of them and Joe Vitale get together and do a show of music and good fun, perhaps for charity, here in L.A.. It might convince them to then take it a bit on the road.
Bernie/Don/Randy
Yeah maybe but only if they as a whole really want to which I doubt Bernie Leadon would. His life appears to be going in a different direction. Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to see it but times have changed and everybody has gotten older. Not a bad thought though.
GREAT BOOK, Don!!
I enjoyed the book, Don. Could not put it down.

By the time this event rolls around Don will more than likely still be feeling the effects of the golf buzz he got playing in the popular LAPD Memorial Foundation tournament two days before. We figure if you put all of the greens back-to-back that Don’s played on for charitable causes the past three years, they would stretch from here to Mars and back!

I wish that I hadn’t read the book. I used to like him before that. I’m sorry, but self-pity is so unattractive, and for someone who shagged and snorted his way around the world for several decades to then blame his wife for the marital break up – the man is a cad. So Glenn and the other Don are super shits, Joe and Timothy moral cowards, rich cowards however, I’m afraid I dont care.

P.S. That is not to mention that what Don can write and can sing dosn’t have appeal ( because it surely does ), just in todays market and in today’s radio, talent like that of Don Feder, and the other names I mentioned, don’t have much of a chance ( in a lead capacity ).

Hey Charles,
Don Felder suffers from the same fate, that so many fantastic and talented guitarist also have: He dosn’t write lyrics that people care to listen to, nor has a voice that can carry a lead. Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, Little Steven, Mick Taylor, Ron Wood, Mike Campbell and so many others are simply fantastic guitarists, masters of thier craft, and such a pleasure to watch play guitar,…….but will never make it as a leader of a band. You make fair points on some of your comments.
I don’t know the man personally in any way, I only know what I read ( but take that with a grain of salt ), and what I have seen in my 33+ years of attending concerts.

Hey Steve, I have seen the Eagles three times live; twice with Don and once without plus I have recorded with Don for hundreds of hours in Boston. The Eagles sounded great either way. They just had a number one album on Billboard charts, their first in 28 years. That means 1980. I have to ask you when a sideman made a band and why doesn’t Don have a band or a number one album. Don is a guitar player. His compositions with the Eagles are minimal. He’s a good guitar player but good guitar players are a dime a dozen as with all other musicians. Singers are rarer and writers are more rare. Like I said before, Don’s a good guitar player but his character is very unpleasant. What has he done lately besides tell-all books that belong in The Enquirer, not in a book store. My opinion is: good sideman, not star material. When did you ever work with Don? Do you know him personally? I was a sideman with Gary Lewis and the Playboys, The Hues Corporation (Rock the Boat) , Freddy Cannon, and I’m a veteran of the Vegas, Reno, Tahoe circuit. I’m also a decorated veteran of the Viet Nam War. I understand Music and musicians, Show Business, and poise under extreme duress. I’m happily retired and I never have to work again. What are your credentials? The “Biz” is a bitch. If Don is so great, maybe he’ll do something musically amazing or bow out gracefully and say he had a great run while it lasted. Otherwise, it sounds like whining and sour grapes to me.

I worked with Don at AAA recording studio in the early 70′s. I helped Don make his audition tape for the Eagles by playing bass and being the recording engineer. . . . . . . I confided in Don because we had recorded so many hours together and I thought our heads were into making music and giving bands the truth and saving their money by working on a smaller scale. Well, Don went to the owner and gave him the lowdown on what I was doing. . . . . . . . I had to leave Boston and return to L.A. where I was originally based. I went on to play with the Hues Corporation, Gary Lewis and the Playboys, Freddie Cannon and spent 13 years playing the Vegas, Reno, Tahoe circuit. . . . . . . The Eagles got it right. When you have Joe Walsh who needs Don Felder. A recent “60 Minutes” TV show of the Eagles made no mention of Don nor showed his likeness at all. It was as if he was never a part of the band, ever. . . . . .

Don’s book has been readily available here in Brisbane, Australia for several months. I bought it before Christmas, and really enjoyed it. I wonder if Don’s publishers/distributors have organised any publicity Down Under. One suggestion I would make is that the book cover should have Don’s picture somewhere on it. I was at our international airport recently and recognised the book among many others, because I know what the cover looks like. Most other autobiographies/biographies have a photo of the subject on the cover. That aside, it is well worth reading and makes me appreciate the ‘ordinariness’of my life!!

Well, it’s a banker day for Don Felder fans because all the links are back for his US edition of his book, including Amazon and Wiley’s US publishing site!
I haven’t looked yet but I bet that the other links that disapeared all over the net overnight (along with these two, that just went POOF!) are back too ie Borders, Barnes & Noble and other outlets. I’ll get back to y’all on this!!
BTW – The product details for the book include a sooner street date April 25th which is nearly a month sooned than the original May 18th release date. ALSO noteworthy is the number of pages in the book is back to 352 rather than the over 100 fewer pages total that was originally announced for the US edition. I was about to go out and get a UK version for fear that for whatever reasons, the US edition might have been severely edited. THAT would REALLY tick me off! If anyone has any info on this please let us all know!
I’ll let you know later on where else the book is available. I want to see this book sell well here in the States!

Wow! I was going to mention that I went to Wiley Publishing website last night and did a search for Don Felder and Heaven and Hell… and there were no results either way! Now I see the book listed as a pre-order $25.95. I wonder why Amazon dumped it or did Wiley pull the listing? Something happened because the page is GONE on Amazon.
I wonder if some of the online discount sellers will have it for less?
I have a couple of other questions. Why can’t Barnes & Noble and other major US booksellers get the UK printing of the book? Is it OOP already? I also wonder if the text of the US printing will be the same as the UK?

Don’s guitar was a critical part of the Eagles sound during their best years. Steuart can play his notes, but they’re clinical compared to being played by their creator. I am disappointed that Joe Walsh isn’t playing more as well. Truly an amazing guitarist. The new album appears to be an attempt to use the same formulas that worked in the past. I’m not impressed with the writing on this album.

I agree Mary. There really is no replacing any member. Especially when they have contributed to the signature sound of the band. I guess It’s just hard for me to picture the Outlaws without Hughie.
And again, I do wish the rest of the band all the best. It’s just hard to believe that HT is gone. I’m sure he would want them to continue if they felt they could.
Mary,
January 29, 2008
Aimee, I agree. Hughie was the driving force behind the band and can’t be replaced, the same way it was with Billy. But I think it was a question of credibility and Henry’s contributions to their signature sound were not insignficant.
I’m pretty sure they’re going to release Once an Outlaw soon. Why not? I bet Hughie would have wanted the band to play on if their hearts were in it.
Aimee,
January 29, 2008
One last thing and I will be done. How can they even say “leaving boots almost impossible to fill”? It will be impossible to fill HT’s boots…he’s just someone you can not replace!
Aimee,
January 29, 2008
I’m an Outlaws fan and a Huge fan of Hughie Thomasson (RIP), but In my opinion without Hughie there is no Oultaws. I’m mean come on…HT was the Outlaws. His guitar playing, his voice, that’s the Outlaws.
I am curious to see how well the tour goes. Don’t get me wrong, I wish the other members all the best, but I just don’t see how they can go on without HT.
Also, does this mean that they will release the new album. “Once an Outlaw” was Hughie’s last peice of work. There are many who would like to have it.

I live in the UK and just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the book. I am not a regular reader and have been an Eagles fan since the beginning. The book held my attention and was read in no time at all. It is well-written and is definitely an emotional rollercoaster. Iwill always appreciate the Eagles for their music but now feel much more enlightened about greed and power-politics within the band.
Best of luck to Don Felder and thanks for the memories.

Hello Felder fans, I am so happy to hear that Felders book has been picked up by a US Publisher. Go Don. I too am writing a book — a coming of age story of a runaway teen. I was Don Henley’s girlfriend at the age of 16 and we were together on and off for many years. I have sent my manuscript to Henley asking for his blessings on my telling of our story, (he’s not the only one in it Steve Clark features heavily in the story). He hasn’t responded as of yet. I am holding the positive intention that he will be generous towards me so i may fulfill my dream in publishing my book. I would be extremely grateful if anyone could pass this info onto Felder for me I surely could use his support on this. I can’t wait to read his book and I thank him for paving the way for me.
All the best,
Lorelei Shellist (aka: “Little Lor”)
PS: These pics are great he sure has held his own on the race against time:-)

I saw them back in 2003 I think it was, and I was not impressed. Henley still sound great, but Glen’s voice was cracking. I never got to see them when Felder was still in the band. I wish I had. They just aren’t the same with out him.
Now I’ll just wait and see if Don works on another solo album. I’d love to be able to see him play live just once.

I’m reading the book now and while it is a bit predictable I’m still enjoying it. I lost interest in the Eagles when I they began trying to sound exactly like their recordings at live shows. How utterly boring. Walsh hardly plays anything anymore. What a waste. The clips I saw of the last tour had some studio guy playing Don’s recorded riffs note for note. Why bother? There’s an audience video floating around of a ’76 show in Seattle after Walsh had just joined where they jammed hard! Now THAT was a live show!

I’ve just ordered Don’s book in Australia and can’t wait to read it. I saw the Eagles play Melbourne a little while ago, the concert they filmed for the Farewell 1 DVD. I gotta say, they are good (I saw Hell Freezes Over too) but damn I wish Felder was still there. I’m a huge solo Joe Walsh fan as well but when he is on stage with the Eagles and Felder is not there it’s just not right! The stand-in (Stewart Smith) can obviously play but you can tell he has had to learn the parts and there just seems to be some passion missing. He accidently played an extra few bars of a solo that cut Henley off as he was about to sing the next verse. You could tell Henley was not happy! Great new album but missing some real guitar punch in parts- The Felder Factor. Walsh needs another partner in crime to stand up to the others.
Geoff January 23, 2008 The Eagles as a band are finished ! It is now the DH GF review which sucks there is no soul left in this mess since the removal of the last key ingredient Don Felder. As much as we all would like to go back and relive those great times of the seventys it just can’t be. We saw many great bands of the day who put out incredible music every year ! It really is kind of painful to see how things have turned out with music after having experienced all the best that will ever be. Now that the truth has been told by DF I’d like to send a heartfelt F.U. to the greedy DH and GF.

Just finished reading the book myself. What a good book! I agree that greed and trust caused a lot of problems. It’s a shame, because I think without Don they are missing something. His playing and presence made a huge difference. Besides, he wrote one of their biggest hits! There was definetly a power struggle there between Henley & Frey.

I do agree with the last email and its comments on henley and frey.
They co wrote most of the songs.
But reading dons book iam sorry to say that greed and lack of trust among henley and frey caused most of the problems.
And irving azoffs business greed and is abillity to play people of of each other. That said iam a eagles fan and will continue to support them whenever they come to england. But they do miss felders lead guitar

How about a new album Don? Please, pretty please. How about starting a petition, send it to Don to let him know, we want music from him, preferably with him, Bernie and Randy, but that would be heaven, Hell we can’t have that?
Five birdies is pretty good.

Every system needs leadership. Henley and Frey started the band and write most of the music. Don’t forget they hired Felder.
That said, Felder is missing from the music. And their band was much better with him.

I saw the HFO gig last night also. hendrmi – - What do you mean Don was muted out? I would give anything to see Don get back with the Eagles. They need him more than he needs them. Joe Walsh looks lost without Don trading licks with him. It was pure magic between those guys.

It’s all about the money. I’ve read the book. I couldn’t put it down & I highly recommend everyone read it. I bought some of Don Henleys solo stuff, I’ve bought some of Joe Walshs solo stuff, & i’m here to say I’ll NEVER buy anything from ANY of these guys again. It’s a shame what they did to Felder effectionately known as “fingers” by the Gods. I beleive every word in Don’s book. I sincerelely beleive there music now sucks

I caught the Hell Freezes Over gig on VH1 Classic last night.
Problem is: All of Don Felder is muted out! WTF!!!

Hey Joe, nice to see you around!
It’s Premiere here where I am and they’ve listed “live” coverage on all four days. Do you guys get the same exact Golf Channel programming? The web site lists an additional half-hour “Celebrity Golf” program for the BHCC.
Joe B,

It’s Setanta Golf channel in the UK which is part of a set subscription sport channels. I subscribe to it for UFC and the boxing so I’ll set this to record.

Fletch, I hole heartidly agree, I have loved the Eagles since I can remember hearing music, but without the feeling of the Great Don Felder playing, it’s just not the Eagles, Joe Walsh is awesome, but without Don, …. I know you all understand.

Luigi, you should be able to go into your favorite bookstore and ask them to order it for you. The only bookstore we’re familiar with in Italy is Athesia in Bolzano. They can get it for you.

I have just about finished your book. This is the most I have read since I left school about 17 years ago, I just can’t put it down.
I think I can say on behalf of most people on here that, you may refer to Henley & Frey as “The Gods”, but to me, YOU are “GOD” as far as Guitarists. I have spent many a night studing the licks/chops that you have blessened the airwaves with and look forward to learning more of your music.

Just finished the book. Great read……but a sad realization regarding the inner-workings of the band. I’m glad things have worked out for Don, but it is evident that he misses playing with the rest of the guys, even though I’m not sure that it would actually be worth the trouble.
Another thing that is evident, is what’s missing from the Eagles latest release. When there’s no Don…….there’s no REAL Eagle sound. This I cannot forgive.
I would never expect or require someone to live or act according to my instruction, but friendship, trust, and fairness are basic principles that come natural to those who are good on the inside.
I’m sorry to say that even though I have followed them since the beginning, and enjoyed every minute, I will never purchase another Eagles album, or attend another Eagles concert.

I think they should have another reunion show with Bernie Leadon, Randy Meisner, Don Felder and the rest, like they did during the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Show 10 years ago. Being a guitarist of 25 years, you can’t remove members of a band and continue with the same name. This is fraudulent to real fans. I recently saw the 1976 Live show in Houston, TX during the Hotel California tour, it was great!! The video and audio at times were shaky, but overall it was a great show, that showed all the guys enjoying themselves. Randy Meisner, Take It To The Limit” was tremendous. What a singer.”
mike January 8, 2008 Don, the remaining Eagles are not the same band without you Randy and Bernie. You three should go on tour, show those ego maniacs you’ve got plenty of fans out there. I miss seeing you guys playing in the band. By the way, can I get you to autograph my copy of your book? It be great if you and Randy can autograph my 1976 Hotel California poster, I’m not very concerned at all with the other members signature, just yours and Randy’s. I’d love to show it to my kids, they’re big fans of yours too. We love you, hang in there.

Having read Dons book I was sorry to discovered that Don, Joe and Timothy ended up as Henley and Frey’s backing band – I saw the Eagles perform last year in Cardiff South Wales with a Nashville session guy playing Don’s parts – it was a play by numbers exercise, lacking Don’s passion and beautiful touch. The show was also spoilt by Glen stopping the show to ask the security guards to stop fans from taking photos – fans who had paid good money to see their idols! – guys get over it! and get the heart and soul of your band back – give Don Felder a call and give those fantastic songs that extra magic they are lacking.
Cheers,
Phil

I woz gobsmacked when the new Eagles album Long Road out of Eden was released and there were only four of the members on the cover. Where was my darling Don – the one who can pick a guitar like no other. The one with the dextrous fingers on Hotel California. I’ve since caught up on the gossip and whilst it seems to be resolved now I just wanted to say, like the others in this blog… we love you Don. I know that I miss your cheeky grin as you’re plucking those strings. Once your book is released in Kiwiland I intend to buy a copy. All the best. xx

As a (very) long time guitar player, I dearly love the Eagles, and I dearly love them even more when Don’s elegant, tasteful, intelligent and soulful playing graces the songs. I love the new Eagles double album, great songs, brilliant production and some really interesting guitar sounds. But I can’t help thinking how much better it would be with Don’s guitar. The players that have been brought in to fill the Felder gap, live and on recordings, are technically excellent players, but it simply doesn’t have the same feel and sound. In their heart of hearts, and honest moments with themselves, the Eagles must hear and know it themselves. Still, I suppose that I’m pissing in the wind here, but I live in hope of a reunion. Guys (ie. all the Eagles and Don) at this stage of your lives and highly successful and lucrative carreers, surely it can’t really be about ego’s and the money. It has to be about the musical excellence that collectively you are capable of, and that you owe me and everyone else who’s lives your music touches.

I seriously think that Don, Bernie and Randy should get together and tour…the real Eagles fans will be able to show Henley and Frey we are no mugs, we know who the good guys are…
