Frankfurt’s Motto: Live for the Music!

Real Life Guitar Heroes Congregating at the Musikmesse from April 1-4

The International Music Trade Fair in Frankfurt, the world’s leading convention for music instruments and live music, is offering an incredible schedule in 2009: live concerts, demos, workshops and discussion forums for producers, retailers, artists, publishers, engineers, technicians, educators, business professionals and just plain folks like us.

The Frankurt fair has been the biggest event of its kind in the music industry for over 25 years. Last year saw close to 1700 exhibitors from some 47 countries on the grounds and this year we’re happy to report that the guitar honchos will definitely not be wimping out and are pulling out all the stops when it comes to shaking the big-leaguers out of their sleeves. So many guitarists – so little time! Here’s what we’re pencilling in:

Steve Lukather and Band, doing an incredible three shows a day on all four days on the Agora stage – over at the Ibanez booth we can meet, greet and maybe snag an autograph from Joe Satriani – hanging out with our friends at Yamaha where we can get a prime spot to enjoy Lee Ritenour’s performances on their Live Stage – Doug Aldrich and Dave Mustaine in between Marshall amps demonstrating and signing at the Marshall “Open House” – Frank Gambale in action with the Roland V-Trio – on “Gibson Saturday” we get a band every hour and a chance to tell Larry “Mr 335″ Carlton during his autograph session just how much he grooves

And all this in between drooling over a gazillion square feet of instruments and gear!
